Occupation List

To apply for permanent residency without an initial job offer, you must be a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the following occupations:  List update: 1st July 2011

·     Dentists

·     Pharmacists

·     Physiotherapists

·     Registered Nurses

·     Medical Radiation Technologists

·     Dental Hygienists & Dental Therapists

·     Licensed Practical Nurses

·     Psychologists

·     Social Workers

·     Chefs

·     Cooks

·     Contractors and Supervisors, Carpentry Trades

·     Contractors and Supervisors, Mechanic Trades

·     Electricians (Except Industrial & Power System)

·     Industrial Electricians

·     Plumbers

·     Welders & Related Machine Operators

·     Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics

·     Crane Operators

·     Drillers & Blasters – Surface Mining, Quarrying & Construction

NOTE: the occupations above are all Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification list.

A maximum of 500 Federal Skilled Worker applications per eligible occupation will be considered for processing between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012.
